Jonathan is a recognized expert and author in the field of simulation and online equipment training, and has field experience in EMS (both pre-hospital and in-hospital). Dr. Kaye is the principal technologist at CommandSim and its parent company, Equipment Simulations LLC, having designed and programmed sophisticated commercial and research-focused simulations for training and certification purposes.

Lt. James Murphy (Retired) is a 32-year veteran of the Orange County Fire Rescue Department who co-founded and led training at the Orange County Command & Tactics School, until his retirement from the Department in early 2007.  At the School, he co-developed the "blue card" credentialing program by blending high-fidelity computer simulation with traditional knowledge assessment.  Lt. Murphy was responsible for overseeing the credentialing of over 200 Company Officers, Battalion Chiefs and Executive Officers, which included Task Force and Hazardous Materials Teams.  In addition to Incident Command Training, Lt. Murphy’s responsibilities included credentialing over 1,200 Firefighters in strategy and tactics, utilizing state of the art high fidelity simulations.

Lt. Murphy also served as Deputy Incident Commander, Hurricane Katrina (Waveland Mississippi), serving under Admiral Thad Allen, as well as multiple other FEMA national deployments (hurricanes wildfires, and other natural disasters). Since 2005, Lt. Murphy has taught Incident Command and Strategy & Tactics across North American in venues such as FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) and various Fire Chiefs Associations. He is currently involved with FDSOA (Fire Department Safety Officer’s Association) on developing and teaching ProBoard certification Incident Safety Officer classes using high-fidelity simulations.
